Women of Purpose is a nonprofit ministry that was founded by Danna Demetre in 1997 to sharpen Christian women in the area of lifestyle evangelism by providing non-threatening events, publications, and resources to impact the women in their lives with spiritual truth.

How it all started
In 1996, Danna Demetre met in her home with eight other women who prayed and discussed how they could reach women all over San Diego with the life-changing truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In 1997, they began holding regular outreach events in local hotels where women would come to hear authentic women tell of how Christ had transformed them for eternity. Since that time thousands of women have heard the gospel and many have responded . September, 2005 marked the 50th such event.

Our purpose is to reach women with the life-saving truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ and to encourage and inspire believers in their faith.

Our vision is to build a dynamic team of Christian women who have a heart for women, a passion for evangelism and a hunger to grow spiritually. This team, in partnership with the local church, desires to be used by God to reach women in their neighborhood, workplace and family. Our goal is for every woman in San Diego County to have an opportunity to hear the truth of the gospel.

Our mission is to provide regular outreach events designed to meet women at their felt need and draw them toward the eternal truth of Jesus Christ. We will also facilitate special programs to sharpen Christian women in spiritual growth and lifestyle evangelism so that… “His ways may be known throughout the earth, His saving power among people everywhere.” Psalm 67:2
