Day 5: Beauty From Ashes

Kate’s Story

Kate sat alone at the small desk near her bedroom window at Villa Santoro, her journal open beneath the soft glow of a bedside lamp. Outside, the sounds of Monopoli drifted through the evening air—distant laughter, church bells, the quiet reminder that life continued beyond the stone walls of the villa.

Her pen rested motionless as she stared at the question she’d written:

Lord, what does restoration even look like now?
